Social Squad:

Social Skills Group for Tweens with ADHD

What:

The clinic runs a social skills intervention program for motivated youth ages 10-13 with ADHD who are interested in building social competence and learning new ways of making and keeping friends.

Youth Learn:

  • Appropriate conversation skills
  • Appropriate humour
  • How to enter and exit conversations
  • Good sportsmanship
  • Strategies for teasing and bullying

Parent Involvement:

Parents are a vital part of their child’s growth and success. To support their tween in applying new skills, parents participate in a separate group where they learn practical strategies and approaches to reinforce learning at home and in daily routines.
